Let’s get down to business.
You need a bass teacher. And I’d love to help you! Here’s some stuff I can help you with:
- Clean up your fretting and plucking technique
- Learn to play scales all over the neck (and understand how to use them)
- Slap like a funk masta’
- Get helpful feedback on your technique and musicality
- Finally get to the elusive “next level”
How Online Bass Lessons Work
You don’t need to be a tech wizard to work with me online. We connect through a video call, using Skype, Facetime, or Zoom (whatever works for both of us).
All you need is a reliable internet connection, a bass and an amp. Lessons last one hour, and I charge $100.
In the first lesson we’ll get to know each other and start charting a course for future lessons, as well as finding some things to explore immediately.
I don’t have a strict curriculum that I give everyone, as I prefer to respond to the uniqueness of each student, but I do guide our learning when appropriate to make sure we’re covering everything.
I have over a decade of experience teaching students one-on-one, and have created hundreds of bass lessons on Youtube and elsewhere, which have been seen millions of times.
As a teacher, I focus on fundamentals like proper technique and (useful) music theory, more than teaching licks, riffs, and tricks. We’ll using learning songs primarily as a vehicle to learn more fundamental bass player skills like timing, choosing good fingerings, using scales, and more.
While I love teaching beginners, if you identify as a beginner, I recommend that instead of taking private lessons, you first take my Beginner to Badass course. It’s a 35+ hour video course that you can do anywhere, anytime, which will give you the foundation you need to play bass well, jam with friends, and even play in a band.
And I shouldn’t really tell you this, since it comes out of my pocket… but it will save you thousands of dollars to take the course, rather than work with me for the same number of hours.
But if you’ve already done the course, or you’re past the beginner level, I’d be honored to be a part of your musical journey!
